TLDR

An innovative inflatable catamaran kayak with a modular hull system. In catamaran mode, two pontoons provide exceptional stability for fishing and photography. In kayak mode, the pontoons draw together for efficient paddling and maneuverability.

  • Kayak anglers, touring paddlers, photographers, and outdoor enthusiasts who want a versatile watercraft that adapts to different activities.
  • Use cases:

Standard kayaks force you to choose between stability for fishing and efficiency for touring. The Aquafarer KaBoat resolves the trade-off with a modular twin-hull design that converts between both modes in minutes.

Two Boats in One

In catamaran mode the two inflatable pontoons sit wide for exceptional stability — stable enough to stand and cast, photograph wildlife, or stretch mid-trip. Slide the adjustable cross-bars together and the KaBoat becomes a streamlined single-hull touring kayak with efficient paddling and responsive handling. No tools, no parts to lose: the conversion takes 2-3 minutes.

Rigid Drop-Stitch Structure

The pontoons use drop-stitch high-pressure construction for a rigid, deformation-resistant hull, while the drop-stitch floor provides a firm deck for gear, rod holders, and a removable seat. The modular frame supports fishing rod holders and gear storage as standard.

Built for the Water

The ZB series spans models from 3.7m to 5.5m with 2+1 to 4+1 air chambers. Standard fittings include aluminum alloy paddles, pedal air pump, maintenance bucket, boat bag, and seat plates. Custom Pantone colors are available for OEM fleets.

Ideal For

Kayak anglers, touring paddlers, photographers, and outdoor enthusiasts who want a versatile watercraft that adapts to different activities — and a unique rental offering that differentiates a fleet at a premium rate.

Choosing Your ZB Model

The two smaller ZB models (3.7-4.2m) are the most maneuverable for solo anglers and light touring, and the easiest to transport solo. The mid-range models (4.5-4.8m) offer the best balance of gear capacity and paddling efficiency for day trips and tandem paddling. The flagship models (5.0-5.5m) bring the highest carrying capacity for expeditions and heavier anglers, with the widest catamaran stance for maximum stability.

Fishing Setup

Run the pontoons wide for the fishing mode. The drop-stitch floor carries rod holders, crates, and dry bags, and the removable seat keeps you comfortable through a full day on the water. In catamaran mode you can stand to cast or net fish without worrying about the boat rolling — a capability that separates the KaBoat from single-hull fishing kayaks. Two stable platforms also let two anglers fish from opposite hulls.

OEM & Fleet Customization

The KaBoat is a flagship differentiator for rental fleets. Aquafarer supplies it in custom Pantone colors with logo printing, and can adjust the frame and mounting points for specific accessories. Because the boat is a dual-mode craft, it replaces two SKUs in a fleet inventory — one rental unit that serves both the touring and fishing segments.

Ongelma

Standard kayaks compromise between stability for fishing/photography and efficiency for touring. Users want a single boat that excels in both modes without needing separate craft.
