TLDR

A military-specification inflatable raft built to MIL-STD-810 environmental standards. Features rapid deployment system (30-second inflation), signature-reducing dark colorway, reinforced load-bearing D-rings, NVG-compatible deck, and integrated equipment attachment points.

  • Military units, search and rescue teams, law enforcement maritime units, expedition operators, and disaster relief organizations.
  • Use cases:

When minutes matter, inflation time is a mission parameter. The Aquafarer Tactical Expedition Raft is built to military specification for teams that deploy fast, carry heavy, and operate in extreme environments.

30-Second Deployment

A high-pressure CO2 inflation system with dual-redundant firing mechanisms deploys the raft in approximately 30 seconds. Pull the locking pin, depress the firing lever, and the raft is ready — or use the included pump for silent, manual override deployment.

Mil-Spec Materials

Hypalon/CSM military-grade fabric provides chemical agent resistance, a low-IR signature treatment for signature reduction, and reliable operation from -20°C to +70°C. The dark tactical colorway minimizes visibility on night operations, while reinforced load-bearing D-rings and an equipment lashing grid on the self-bailing floor secure weapons cases, medical kits, and communications gear.

Built for Heavy Loads

Five to seven independent air chambers with individual shutoff give the raft redundancy and trim control. It carries up to 12 personnel with full gear (2,500 lbs) and can be operated by a two-person crew.

Ideal For

Military units, search and rescue teams, law enforcement maritime units, expedition operators, and disaster relief organizations. A specialized niche product with high unit value for government and NGO procurement.

Deployment Doctrine

The raft is designed around two deployment workflows. For time-critical scenarios — swift-water rescue, extraction, flood response — the CO2 system launches the craft in approximately 30 seconds, and redundant firing mechanisms mean a single point of failure cannot stop deployment. For planned operations, the manual override pump enables silent inflation without the CO2 signature, preserving tactical discretion and conserving canisters.

Field Logistics

The self-bailing floor drains water automatically during recovery operations, and the integrated lashing grid secures mission gear without external rigging. Lightweight relative to its 2,500 lbs capacity, the raft can be airdropped, packed on vehicles, or staged in readiness bags. Operating temperature coverage from -20°C to +70°C keeps the raft functional across arctic, desert, and tropical deployments.

Procurement and Customization

The Tactical Expedition Raft is available through the Aquafarer OEM channel with government-facing documentation. Customization options include alternate fabric colors, additional lashing points, integrated first-responder kits, organization insignia, and special packaging for stockpile storage. Contact the Aquafarer sales team for specification sheets suitable for tender and procurement processes.

The problem

Tactical operators, rescue teams, and expedition leaders need an inflatable raft that can be deployed rapidly, carry heavy loads in extreme conditions, and remain reliable in combat or rescue scenarios.

Comparison

How it compares

Compared to commercial whitewater rafts, the tactical raft uses military-spec materials (Hypalon/CSM vs PVC/Hypalon), includes rapid CO2 deployment, and features specialized tactical equipment integration. It carries higher loads per linear foot and operates in a wider temperature range (-20°C to +70°C).
